Artist Lineup - Long Miles
Based in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Long Miles is going beyond the traditional barriers of the music world with their unique style and sound. Attending the same high school right outside of Philadelphia, these guys were all writing music and playing together by their senior year. Named after their mutual high school friend Jeremy, Long Miles was born.
Long Miles creates a distinctive mixture of rock, reggae, hip-hop, and jam with their collection of original songs. Covering “everything from Toots to Michael Jackson to A Tribe Called Quest,” they play their own adaptations of popular songs, yet they tend to focus on originals.
During the summer months, Long Miles plays at popular bars in the greater Philadelphia and South Jersey regions. In the off-season, Long Miles resides in Charleston, South Carolina, where they have accumulated a devoted fan base in the Low Country stretching into Florida, as they continuously pack the house at bars in youthful college and tourist towns, from Charleston to West Palm Beach. Long Miles opened for the Heavy Pets at their PetZoo! Festival 2009 and played again at PetZoo! 2010 this past August.
In 2007, they recorded eleven tracks for their first LP, featuring their hit, “Mr. Sunshine.” In 2009, Long Miles released their second album, “405 Productions,” which was written, recorded, and produced by the guys themselves in their dorm, Room 405, in Charleston. A 6-song EP recorded at Philadelphonic Studios in Philadelphia is scheduled for an August release.
